This theme of Sacred In The Flesh is based on the paradox of the Jewish nude woman. Though the body is considered holy, at the same time it is considered a contaminant. No holy books are allowed in the bedroom of a Chassidic married couple. The stringent laws of modesty in my Jewish world were troubling for me. I use the female nude mingled with the Hebrew letters, either emanating or engulfing her body as my own healing of the holy and the profane.
